About Our Pastor

Pastor Sheila Baker Is a native of Baltimore, MD. She is the wife of Minister Kenneth Baker and a dedicated mother of 3 handsome young men, mother In-law, and proud Grandmother of her little princess "Tori". She attends the Maryland Eastern Theological Seminary. After accepting God's call, Pastor Baker was licensed to preach the Gospel on September 18, 1994, and later ordained on December 12, 2003. In November 15, 2009, she was appointed as Assistant to the Pastor of the Garden of Prayer Baptist Church, and elevated to Assistant Pastor on December 25, 2012. Pastor Baker has established over 17 ministries and has served many areas. She has also served as a teacher for the Maryland Baptist Convention Annual Statewide Conference.

On Sunday, August 17, 2014, the Lord awakened Pastor Baker out of her sleep and called to her Pastorate. He told her to name the church "A New Beginning". 

“Therefore if any man be in Christ he is a new a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

1 Timothy 1:12: “And I thank Jesus Christ our Lord, who hath enable me, for he counted me faithful putting me in the gospel ministry.”
